Harrison Street is seeking to hire an Analyst Intern on our Asset Management team. The internship will last 10 weeks. Individuals in our summer internship program will provide support to the Asset Management teams by performing financial analysis, cash flow modeling, investment research and property reviews. Highlights of the program include an intern trip to tour various Harrison Street properties, mentoring by executive leadership, and individual projects. Harrison Street’s portfolio encompasses alternative property types, including senior housing, student housing, self-storage, healthcare properties, and life science buildings. Additionally, the firm recently expanded its scope to include investments in social infrastructure assets. Candidates should possess broad-based analytical skills, strong understanding of Excel, superior communication skills, and proven research skills. The individual must be a self-starter, able to efficiently allocate time between multiple tasks, changing priorities and tight deadlines. This opportunity is open to rising Juniors in 2024-2025 school year.

Specific Duties Include
  • Assist in the analysis of the Portfolio– including monthly financial performance, budget reviews, and buy/hold/sell analysis. 
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly investor reporting material. 
  • Analyze the financial impact of capital events including dispositions, recapitalizations, and debt refinancing. 
  • Analyze leasing trends, competitive property sets, supply/demand data, and other market-level information. 
  • Assist in the preparation of disposition Investment Committee memoranda. 
  • Support in the maintenance of joint venture projection models. 
  • Complete site inspection of existing and/or under-development properties alongside an analysis of the market and the competitive set. 
  • Participate in bi-weekly meetings to discuss distressed assets, up-coming sales, approaching loan maturities and the current status of joint venture partner relationships. 
  • Perform ad hoc financial modeling projects aimed at increasing efficiency in asset management’s review of investment performance. 


Background Required
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree – Real Estate and/or Finance concentrations (or strong interest in real assets) preferred; 
  • Core knowledge of finance and accounting. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Highly motivated, organized, and self-directed individual eager to learn all facets of transactions and asset management.  
  • You must be a junior in college to apply.

Program Term: Ten (10) weeks starting in early June 2025.
