Position Summary:


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal PCBs Design Drafting Technician to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and layout of high-density multi-layer printed circuit boards (PCBs) using advanced CAD tools. This role requires a deep understanding of PCB design principles, excellent technical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment. This is a 6 month contract to hire and is fully remote.

Responsibilities:
  • PCB Design: Design and layout high-density multi-layer PCBs, ensuring optimal performance, manufacturability, and reliability.
  • CAD Tools: Utilize advanced CAD tools (e.g., Altium Designer, OrCAD, Mentor Graphics) to create detailed PCB layouts, schematics, and documentation.
  • Design Standards: Adhere to industry standards and best practices for PCB design, including IPC standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other team members to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality designs.
  • Review & Validation: Conduct thorough design reviews, simulations, and validation tests to ensure design accuracy and functionality.
  • Component Selection: Select appropriate components and materials for PCB designs, considering factors such as performance, cost, and availability.
  • Documentation: Generate and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including schematics, BOMs, and manufacturing files.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest PCB design technologies and methodologies, and continuously seek opportunities to improve design processes and efficiency.
  • Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues, providing technical support during the manufacturing and testing phases.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians and designers, sharing knowledge and expertise to enhance team capabilities.
